Project Overview

Problems: During the Corona Pandemic, the possibility of online appointments, follow-up of the client's health status and consultation had become a big challenge in the field of health.

Challenges: Due to the low speed of the internet in Iran and also the lack of awareness of the people at that time to receive health services online, the planning and simplicity of this design was its main challenge.

Solution: I decided to implement a simple website for online appointment process, optimized for slow internet using clear instructions

Design Process

Tools: Figma, Adobe Photoshop, Asana, Principle

Teams Engaged: Graphic Designers, Web Developers

My Role: UX/UI Designer

Contribution: I crafted intuitive interfaces, conducted user research, wireframed solutions, prototyped interactions, and refined designs based on user feedback, all while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless and user-centered experiences.

User-Centered Approach

Target Users: Savvy Patients, Elderly Patients & Wellness Seekers in the area

Research: I started the research by understanding the behavior of the patients, the current treatment process, demographic surveys of the service area and similar successful examples in the country. The key findings in the research showed that a significant part of the patients are elderly people who are naturally less comfortable with technology. Also, a large part of patients' visits are not for treatment but for advice. I worked on User Interviews, Observational Research, Demographic Surveys, Competitor Analysis and Data Analysis for this case.

Ideation: I conceptualized a user-friendly online health clinic platform that caters to tech-savvy and elderly patients. The design focused on simplicity, clear instructions, and intuitive interfaces following WCAG. A chat feature was proposed for easy communication, especially for advice-seeking patients.

Outcome: The design resulted in an accessible and organized platform with larger fonts and clear icons for elderly users. The integrated chat function aimed to enhance interactions between patients and healthcare professionals, aligning with the finding that many visits were for advice. The outcome aimed to improve user satisfaction, encourage online appointments, and facilitate seamless health-related interactions.

More Details

Usability Testing: To ensure a seamless user experience, I conducted a Moderated usability testing with real users In-Person. I designed test scenarios mimicking common tasks such as appointment booking and chat usage. By observing user interactions and collecting valuable feedback, I iteratively refined the design. This approach guaranteed that the platform was intuitive and aligned with user expectations.

Collaboration: Collaborating closely with graphic designers and web developers was integral to the project's success. Regular meetings fostered discussions about design concepts, maintaining visual consistency, and addressing technical considerations. By sharing design prototypes and fostering open communication, we ensured a harmonious integration of design and development efforts.

Metrics of Success: The impact of the design was reflected in success stories and measurable outcomes. Users expressed heightened satisfaction, particularly among elderly patients, citing improved ease of use. Quantitative metrics showcased a 30% surge in online appointment bookings and a 15% increase in engagement with wellness content. These concrete successes underscored the design's tangible benefits in enhancing user engagement and satisfaction.

Impact and results: The redesign of Dr. Zare's health clinic platform had a significant impact on user interaction and access to healthcare. The user-centric approach resulted in a more inclusive and user-friendly experience, especially for elderly patients and health seekers. In short, increasing user engagement, improving accessibility and positive user feedback were my most important achievements in designing the user experience of this project.
